Raw silk has a linen like weave and texture. It is the step before any processing is done to turn it into the smooth silk we know. Raw silk is good for casual outfits – dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, suits, ties and jackets. The fabric is very easy to sew – it is not slippery, it doesn't unravel easily. Some men's clothing like dress shirts and suits are often made from raw silk.
