Ask the Expert!

Beth Asked: "I just completed a freestanding lace project, and washed away the stabilizer, but now it isn't firm enough to stand up. How do I fix it?"

"Great question Beth, there is a really simple fix for this! If you have any scraps from your water-soluble stabilizer that you trimmed away, put them in a pan and melt them with some warm water. Place your free-standing lace inside and then remove it from the solution and then lay flat to dry or shape it while drying! That should bring the stability back to your lace." - Lea
