Ask the Expert!

Lea asked: "I want my jeans to look polished, but don't like topstitching. Is there anything i can do to speed up the process, or make it easier?"

Great question Lea! During our Jeans Retreat with Yvette at the end of April this question came up, and brought up a good solution for that very question.

With great anticipation for the Jeans Retreat and Ora Rosa Patterns Bag Retreat coming up we ordered in a new thread called Poly Core. It is an extra strong polyester thread, which is made of Polyester spun around a polyester filament core.

We asked Yvette if there was ways of making Jeans with top stitching easier, and she said YES! Because the Poly core thread is thin enough to use with a size 90/14 jeans needle, yet thick enough to show up when topstitching there is no need to keep switching back and forth between regular and topstitching thread, or switching needles!

It worked perfectly, we were so pleased!

See the Poly Core thread in store (coming soon to our website) or let us know what you use it for if you have used it before!
