Wrapping up 2022

Just a few weeks are left of 2022, and wow has this year ever flown by, all thanks to all of you! We can really say our customers are Sew amazing, and we couldn't ask for better.
There are a few things to note as the last update of 2022. We have a TON of new fabric that as just arrived in the shop, Classes are up and running, and more are added monthly, and of course our updated hours and winter closure, and be sure not to miss the amazing sales on machines and select accessories!

What's New

Annual Winter Closure
We will be closed from Saturday December 24, 2022 - Monday January 2, 2023. We will be open again on January 3, 2023.
Please note the last day to shop before our winter closure is Friday December 23, 2022.
We look forward to seeing you soon in the new year!

New Flannel!
This flannel is especially thick and velvety. It is perfect for any cozy winter garment. The really cool part of this flannel is because the design is woven into the fabric, the reverse side is another unique pattern! Use either side in your pattern, or both to your advantage. You can see it in the photo, the left half is the reverse of the right half of the photo.

Time for U.S. (Uninterrupted Sewing)
Join other like-minded sewists during our sew session-take advantage of Uninterrupted Sewing (US) time in our classroom between 11am and 2pm on these posted sew-days!
You can choose your own project(s) and your own pace perfect way to enjoy sewing: start new projects or catch up on all the "old". This is independent sewing time (no teacher supervision) but of course our staff will be on hand to assist when required.

Sewing Machine Essentials: Brother NS80e, ND50e, XR37T - Jaret
In this class, you will start with the basics to get to know your machine, and then progress to maintenance, tips and trick from the tech, troubleshooting and finishing with a questions and answer period.
Our favourite part about this class is that although it is geared to be a starting point to learn your new machine, it is not only for beginner sewists. If you want to gain a deeper understanding of your machine, or just have a refresher this class is a great option for you.
If you have purchased your machine at That Sewing Place and would like to register, please contact the shop, and we will take care of registration for you.

Jeanne PJ Set - Yvette
It includes a long-sleeve, round-neck top with ribbed neckband and cuffs. The pyjama bottoms are slim-fit, the waist elastic hits at the belly button, and the cuffs are finished with ribbed ankle cuffs.
An easy-to-wear pyjama set that is also very easy to make. It is a wonderful pattern for beginners or a first sewing project for knits. You can practice on a smaller size before making your own since the pattern bundles kids, teens and adult sizes (just like all Jalie patterns).
Recommended fabric: Jersey knit with 50% in the width and length, rib knit for cuffs
This is not a sew-along, you will take notes, observe and ask questions as the teacher demonstrates how to do each step. There will be homework in between classes.

Mystery Quilt with Heidi Pridemore!
This is a sew along class. The quilt features the woodcut Blossom Batik Collection from Island Batik.

Seams Great Hem Tape is a great tool to have in your sewing room.
This product is a stretchy nylon that almost disappears when placed over the edge of your seam. Stretch it out, wrap it over the edge of your fabric and secure the raw edge of your seam so you’ll never have to worry about fraying.
