Wonderfull Winter at TSP

Welcoming in Wonderful Winter!

How fast the year flies by! We have been so pleased to start to see you all this fall in store, and on video. We have had the pleasure of meeting new friends and old, and look ever forward to seeing you grow in your skill and love of sewing, embroidery, quilting and crafting!

Dare we mention, the cold weather is coming...but that means its time to cozy up in your craft room and finish the UFO pile, or start something new.

What's New?

Alligator Quilt - Marlene

Marlene used the Animal Crackers quilt panel and coordinating fabrics to make this sweet little lap quilt. This panel sews up quickly into a quilt for a gift, or you can divide the panel and rearrange it to make your own unique creation!

Don't Forget about the Wish-list!

Have you set up your Wish List/Gift Registry yet?

Our ‘Wish List’ program has been ongoing for every year since we opened our doors, and it runs all year for every possible occasion. In the past, we’ve had you make up a list and call it in or email/give it to us so we can add it to your file so when you send in a loved one, we can help them shop for you.

This year, all you need to do is go to our website, OR click HERE and create an account.  Make sure you’re logged in, and then go shopping on the site!  When you get to a product you want, you can either place it in your cart (which means you’d be buying it yourself) or use the new ‘Add to my Wish List’ option*.

At this point, if you haven’t already set up a wish list, you will be prompted to do so. Call it whatever you want to call it and then add your items to the list along with the quantities you desire. Be sure to leave your wish list open so that others can find your list (if you don’t the general public looking at your list, you will be able to copy the direct link to your wish list so you can send it to friends and family so only the people you choose to see it, will).
This will now allow your friends and family to come into your Wish List and go shopping for you from the comfort of their own home or office!

When we get the order, we will know it’s for you. We will get the order ready and ship it, or hold it for in store pickup as per their instructions. If you come across any question while setting up your List, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to walk you through it.

- The Seam Team

*Did you see something in store that it not on the website? This option is not available on a handful of items which are not available for online purchase, so if you come across something you want, but don’t see the ‘add to wish list’ option, give us a call or email and we’ll be happy to inform anyone you send in that that item is also something you want.

Ask the Expert!

Frequently Asked Question:
"I want to get a new rotary cutter, but I'm now sure which one I should be using. Does it matter which one I pick?"

Expert Answer: "That is a great question. There are different sizes for different uses, and of course it has to be comfortable in your hand.

We carry Ormkraft and Olfa rotary cutters and blades. Both Companies are excellent, and have a variety of handles for every need.

First thing you need to think about is the blade size.

What type of sewing do you do? If you do a lot of longer straight lines, or gradual curves then the large (60mm blade) is a good option for you. You can swiftly and accurately cut through your fabric with ease.

If you tend to have more curves and sharper turns in your sewing, then the medium (45mm) is the way to go.

If you do a lot if intricate work, then the small (28m) will be the perfect fit. If course, for smaller more detailed cuts you may still need scissors, but the rotary blade will do the majority of the work for you.

Now that you have your blade selected, look at the type of handle. Ormkraft has one type that comes in 4 colours and includes a retractable blade cover.

Olfa has a wider selection of handles. The medium and large blade sizes have the option of a regular handle with retractable blade cover, ergonomic trigger grip handle, and quick change.

That's it, clear as mud!"
