Tech Shop Updates!

It is amazing that this lockdown is reigniting everyone's sewing passion!! Along with this "serge" in sewing, comes an increased volume of machine repairs. We are striving to conquer this increased volume.

Because of the heightened Covid-19 restrictions at this time, we cannot receive any machines for service, repairs or quick fixes.  However, we offer a virtual assessment service (via Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp, etc) to get you on your way again.

Call us at (905) 715-7725 to determine how we can best serve your needs.

Ask the Expert!

We're so excited to share this column with you!! You asked for it, we listened.  This is YOUR news piece, driven by you.

Our first segment features our ScanNCut Expert Mikaela!

***

Jane asked: "I just got a new SNC machine, What are the essential "MUST-HAVES" that I should have in my kit."

Mikaela answered: "Thank you! That is a great question. For must haves, I would say a weeding tool, and a brayer are essential. I use my brayer no matter what material; fabric, paper, sign vinyl, or heat transfer vinyl so that all my designs cut cleanly without bubbles or shifting. If you are using sign vinyl, transfer tape is an additional must have. It is clear so you can see exactly where you are placing your designs, and re-usable too!"

Name That Tool?

Have you ever come across a notion or tool that you had questions about? We certainly have, so we decided that we'd share some of our favourite tools and notions with you, along with a little background info on how it's used and why it's a life-changing item!

Have you heard about a "Hot Ruler", and it's sister, the "Hot Hemmer"? We LOVE these nifty gadgets and if you need precise, clean lines, these goodies are for you!

hot hemmer
Special features of the these tools are that you can measure, mark and press straight hems, round, interior and miter corners. They're heat resistant, so you press directly on the ruler or hemmer either dry or with steam. It's a thin and accurate tool that has a unique non-slip surface to hold your fabric in place for precise results.

We carry both products to help with all of your projects:
The Hot Hemmer is a 4"x4" - Click here to purchase yours
The Hot Ruler is 2"x10" - Click here to purchase yours

We hope you have a great February. Until we have an opportunity to see you again! Stay healthy, stay safe!
