Adult Beginner Summer Sewing Workshop
Three to four projects have been selected to build a strong foundation and key sewing skills. Students will learn safe machine operation and techniques for independent sewing.
Current learning outcomes:
Pillowcase: Learn to sew long straight lines (yes, it's way harder than expected) and how to sew a french seam. This is important technique you will use later for professionally finished garments.
Pencil case or toiletries bag: Learn zipper installation, precision sewing in small spaces and adding a lining.
PJ Pants: Pattern reading and material choice, introduction to fitting if necessary, introduction to working with a serger (provided in class if you do not own one) and elastic installation.
*Please note that outcomes may depend upon homework and competency.
If you do not own a sewing machine, no problem. Just let us know before the session begins and we will put one of our store demo models aside for you. Limited availability.

| Requirements: | Please bring your sewing machine in GOOD working condition with power cord and accessories, fabric scissors, rotary cutter, snips, frixion pen or chalk marking tool, clear ruler, glass head pins or fabric clips, tracing web, needles and threads. A limited number of sewing machines available to borrow during class only if needed. |
